Aiken Man Admits Torturing & Killing Roommate’s Dogs

-

An Aiken man was given an evaluation at a local hospital and then jailed after confessing that he strangled his roommate’s Chihuahua to death and stabbing a Bulldog in the eye, according to a report.

Kyle Magnus, 20, of Shadowood Drive, was charged Monday with two counts of felony cruelty to animals and two counts of ill treatment of animals.

The suspect’s 20-year-old female roommate, told police that she returned home on Sunday morning and found a cut on the right eye of her Bulldog. An officer observed the pet with a cut on the scrotum, a toe nail removed on the right foot and a small cut above the left eye, a report says.

After tracking down Magnus and hearing a lie about him being gone from home Saturday night, the suspect eventually agreed that he needed to be checked out at a local hospital for a voluntary evaluation, a report says.

While waiting for EMS, Magnus opened up to the officer about his cruel acts on his roommate’s pets.

A police report details his admission: Magnus admitted stabbing the woman’s Bulldog in the eye. He also confessed to killing her Chihuahua in July and telling his roommate that the dog had run away after chasing a cat.

Actually, Magnus said, he had flicked the Chihuahua’s teeth until three teeth came out.
“The suspect stated that when the dog lost three teeth, he felt that it was too noticeable and killed the dog by strangling it,” a report says. “The suspect stated that he then broke the neck of the dog and discarded the animal in the dumpster at Gatewood apartments.”

No motive was given. Magnus was jailed without bond.
