Walker, 34, was shot on the 1900 block of 2nd Avenue in Augusta and died later at GRU Hospital. There is no suspect information, sheriff’s Sgt. Glen Rahn said in a press release.

Deputies were called to 2nd Avenue at 4:44 a.m. Friday, where they found Walker shot in the stomach. He was rushed to GRU, where he was pronounced dead at 6:29 a.m.

Authorities say the shooting may have been the result of an argument.

Walker has a long list of theft and drug arrests, but his friends were remembering him today as a local father who will be missed.

“I’m sorry to hear your no longer with us, you will truly be missed. I will be praying for your family and all friends cause big dawg you have touched many hearts. R.I.P.,” wrote Roze Man’yae on Walker’s Facebook page.

Added Molique Dunn, “I didn’t know this man that close, but what I’ve known of him was, he was a good man,he cared about his family his children. … When I first met him at the Augustine transitional Center, he was always caring, down to earth and just real. I can’t believe this. May God be with his family and especially his children.”
