Richmond County authorities have captured a bank robbery suspect who hit the SunTrust Bank around lunchtime today.
Eddie Garnett was caught on the 3000 block of Washington Road at 9 p.m. tonight by the sheriff’s office with the assistance of the US Marshal’s Service. He’s being held in the Richmond County Jail for the charge of Robbery by Intimidation.
According to authorities, Garnett approached tellers at the Gordon Highway bank and threatened to harm them if they did not turn over the money.
The suspect then jumped over the counter where he obtained cash and fled.
