Augusta Man Jailed for Tattooing 15-Year-Old Girl

-

A tattoo artist has been charged with illegally tattooing a 15-year-old girl who was later raped by another man after the procedure, authorities said.

Coire Robb, 23, of Augusta, remains in jail this morning under no bond on the misdemeanor charge.

The girl’s tattoo came to the attention of investigators when her mother brought her to Doctor’s Hospital in December because of an alleged rape. In that case, the girl’s friend, 20-year-old Steven Braswell, is accused of getting the teen drunk and then sexually assaulting her, authorities say.

Braswell picked up the girl from her home on Dec. 26 and told her he was taking her to get a tattoo on April Drive. That’s where Braswell “provided the victim with alcoholic beverages while getting her tattoo,” a report says.

After the victim drank the alcohol, she passed out but woke up at 2 a.m. Dec. 27  with Braswell having sex with her. She ran from the home and called her brother to pick her up. He took her home, where an ambulance was called to take her to Doctors Hospital. Braswell was arrested in December and the rape charges are pending.

While talking to investigators at Doctor’s Hospital, the girl said that Coire Robb had  placed a tattoo on her left thigh. An investigation led to warrants against Robb on March 1 and he was arrested Wednesday.

Robb is a repeat offender with a history of criminal charges since he was a youth, including reckless conduct, trespassing, obstruction of an officer and driving on a suspended license.
