An Augusta teen being arrested for underage drinking early Sunday ended up with more serious charges after punching a sheriff’s official and threatening to kill the female employee once released from jail, a report says.
Shynice Cannida, 17, is now facing charges of felony obstruction of an officer, terroristic threats & acts and purchase of possession of alcohol by a minor.
A female officer was escorting the fiesty teenager to a cell on the alcohol charge when Cannida starting walking towards the exit. The sheriff’s employee tried to stop the girl when she struck the officer in the face with a closed fist, a report says.
After a scuffle, Cannida told the officer that when she got out of jail, “she was going to kill her,” according to a report.
That was enough to charge her single misdemeanor charge two two felonies and no bond.
Cannida has been a hectic to officers ever since she turned 17, getting arrested three times for disorderly conduct, a magistrate’s court bench warrant and the alcohol offense.

She should be taken to a nice quiet peaceful place and put to sleep. Like you would do for a rabid dog. It would be the humane thing to do for her and society. She will never contribute anything to this society. Other than ******* children and mugshots.

I hope she can get some counseling to get to the root cause of her issues. She sounds like she is hurting on the inside and this is her way of acting out. I know that with the love of Christ and someone pouring into her life, she can be a productive citizen. You should not be so judgemental, that’s still a soul that can be won for Christ. We reject the behavior, but not the person.

This is one of those people that had the situation had been turned around it would be all over the tv as a police had beaten her.. But since she punched a police officer all she gets is a little mug shot and a few days in a jail cell.. I say let them take her a** in a cell without cameras and let them punch her and then give her a cell for recovery.. Stupid people like this is why our streets only get worse.. Do the crime pay the dam* time..
