An Augusta woman was charged this week with biting her boyfriend in the face during an argument over cheating, according to a sheriff’s report.
Melissa Sousa, 33, was charged with simple battery family violence in connection with Sunday’s incident.
Deputies were called to the couple’s Richmond Avenue apartment about 4 p.m. Sunday, where the woman’s 40-year-old boyfriend had a bite mark on his face that was bleeding. He told deputies that his live-in girlfriend became “physically assaultive” after he accused her of cheating.
Sousa told police that she was upset about the cheating allegations and that her boyfriend held her down when she became violent. “Then she bit him on his face,” a report says.
Surprisingly, the boyfriend refused to write a statement or prosecute. But deputies charged the woman after her confession.

This is the mother of my husband first child we last seen her was a yr ago and se was alittle plump so yeah look at what meth would do to u smh..we’ve been looking for her so we can get or see my husband son and she been all over the place. I hate to say this but i hope and pray she dont have her 4 beautiful children wherever theey mayb hoefullly in good hands. Now that we got some more info we will be perceeding to finsh. If anyone knows her and knows where the kids r please help my husband to find his son. We use to get tom tom and keep him 2 or 3 weeks out the month until my husband and i had our kids together she stop us from getting him and had moved without us knowing a yr ago. So please any info let us know thank u and god bless everyone. We will continue praying for this family as well.
