It’s not a great picture, but this image shows a man and his vehicle suspected in the theft of fiber optic testing equipment early Tuesday from the bed of a pickup truck.

The theft occurred at the Howard Johnson motel at 4045 Jimmie Dyess Parkway around 3:15 a.m. Tuesday. The equipment is valued at approximately $100,000, according to Columbia County authorities.

The vehicle appears to be a 2011–2014 Dodge Journey, shown above right for comparison. Know anything about this expensive theft? Please call the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office at 706-541-2800.
