Cross-Dressers Steal TV Sets from Martinez Walmart

-

Two men dressed as women have been charged with shoplifting two 39-inch TVs from the Martinez Walmart.

It took authorities five days to identify and arrest the thieves, but Columbia County authorities have charged 24-year-old Andre Hill of Augusta (left) and 22-year-old Christopher Elzey of Augusta (right) with felony shoplifting in the theft of the Emerson flat-screen TVs, valued at $400 each.

According to a sheriff’s report, the shoplifting occurred at 2 a.m. on April 11. Three days later, a loss prevention officer was reviewing surveillance tape from that day when he discovered the shoplifting.

“Two men dressed as females entered the store, grabbed a shopping cart, selected two TVs from off the shelf and exited the store, passing all points of sale,” according to a sheriff’s report.

The video also showed the cross-dressers had a getaway driver in a small red, four-door passenger vehicle.
