Venisha Brown, daughter of the late soul singer James Brown, is being hunted by North Augusta police for allegedly stealing a church van and then dragging a woman who tried to reclaim it.
About 9 a.m. today, victim Hope Campbell of Grovetown saw the stolen van outside Regions Bank. She tried to secure the 2000 Chevrolet Suburban by reaching inside the van for the keys. But Brown quickly accelerated, dragging the 46-year-old victim into and over the hood of another vehicle parked in front of the Suburban.
According to North Augusta Lt. Tim Thornton, Venisha Brown “left the area without rendering aid and was last seen headed into Georgia across the 13th Street Bridge.”
North Augusta Public Safety is actively looking for Venisha Brown on warrants for possession of a stolen vehicle, leaving the scene of an accident and assault & battery.
The stolen van is owned by St. Stephen’s Ministry in Augusta.
Any information as to the whereabouts of Brown should be delivered to law enforcement immediately. She was last seen driving a gray Chevrolet Suburban with GA Tag: 745WJX.
The victim was injured in the incident and transported to the hospital by ambulance. The extent of her injuries is unknown, Lt. Thornton said. No one else was injured in the incident this morning.

I know the people involved. Prayer is what is needed. Pray that Venisha turns herself in,before any one else gets hurt.
