An Augusta man was arrested earlier this week for calling 911 so deputies could help him find his alcohol.
No joke.
According to a sheriff’s report, 62-year-old Miller Ashley Jr. called 911 on Tuesday afternoon for possible abuse. But when deputies arrived at 1608 Cider Lane, the man told the officer he called 911 “to have law enforcement locate his hidden alcohol.”
The deputy determined that there was no emergency and arrested Ashley for unlawful conduct during a 911 call.
He was booked into the jail under a $5,700 bond.
