Hephzibah Man Shot Dead at 1 in the Morning; No Suspect

A Hephzibah man was shot dead at 1 in the morning Wednesday and authorities say they have no suspects to announce in the case.

Wesley D. Cave, 22 (pictured), was shot multiple times on Teakwood Drive and was pronounced dead at 2:10 a.m. Wednesday, according to Chief Deputy Coroner Kenneth Boose Sr.

“Richmond County Deputies and Violent Crime Investigators responded to 2615 Teakwood Drive in reference to a shooting,” a sheriff’s press release said. “Upon arrival, it was discovered that B/M Wesley D. Cave (22) had been shot multiple times. The victim succumbed to his injuries on scene.”

The sheriff’s office said the investigation is in the very early stages and suspect information is not available.

Cave2Friends of Cave were already taking to Facebook to remember the young man, who attended Glenn Hills High School.

“Rest easy baby,” wrote Delrenee Maxwell. “Lord, y’all went too soon. r.i.p wesley.”
