Kia Employee Charged with Theft of Car Batteries

On Tuesday morning,  Mark Andrew Lewis of 1807 Tubman Home Road was arrested by Richmond County Investigators in connection with automobile battery thefts from seven vehicles at KIA of Augusta located at 1770 Gordon Highway.

The incident, which occurred on Sept. 23,  was captured on video. Investigation and video showed Mark Lewis, who is a former employee of KIA of Augusta, drive his red Mercedes Benz convertible onto the property, then break into seven automobiles and remove the batteries from the vehicles.

Mark Lewis was booked into the Richmond County Jail on five counts of Entering an Automobile to Commit a Theft.
