Richmond County Sheriff Richard Roundtree announced the launch of a new website on Thursday.
Here it is:
http://www.richmondcountysheriffsoffice.com/
Sheriff Roundtree said it’s a full-service website:
“This is another step towards interacting with the public through social media and improving transparency within the agency,” he said in a press release.
WHAT CAN YOU DO ON THE NEW WEBSITE?
* Learn about the various bureaus
* Obtain information on volunteer programs
* Get info on full-time employment opportunities
* View officer memorials
* learn about various safety techniques for personal, home and business protection
* Submit confidential tips to the Sheriff’s Office
* Read frequently asked questions
The sheriff hopes to include “opt in” programs in the future, allowing for citizens to sign up for alerts regarding road closures, crime issues within a specific geographical location or for all of Richmond County.
The Sheriff’s Office launched its Facebook page a few months back and now has over 6,000 followers. The website will allow for even more information to be easily and readily available to the public, the sheriff said.
