Scott Dean’s oldest daughter has been arrested for allegedly breaking into her mother’s home and stealing jewelry, The Jail Report has learned.

Marlin Azucena Dean, 19, was arrested Saturday and charged with burglary and theft by receiving stolen property in a case investigated by Harlem Police.

WGAC’S Austin Rhodes is reporting that the teenager is being accused of breaking into the home of Renee Dean and stealing jewelry and then possibly pawning it. The girl has not been living with Mrs. Dean for awhile.

Last month, a Superior Court judge denied the former Columbia County commissioner a new child molestation trial. He stands convicted of molesting Marlin Dean’s younger sister and was sentenced to 20 years in prison.

A jury convicted him of exposing himself and touching the teen daughter, who is one of five children he and his wife adopted from Guatemala in 2008. The girl testified that Dean came into her room at night and touched her. He denied the charges and his lawyer said the allegations were made up.

Marlin, in fact, is the daughter who ran away to Mexico just days before her younger sister made allegations against Dean. The younger sister said that Mr. Dean crawled into her bed and touched her vaginal area.

Mr. Dean and Marlin testified that the accuser lied about the allegations. Dean’s attorney, Pete Theodocion, has argued that the girl made up the allegations just after her older sister ran away to get out of the house. Both girls admit they did not get along with Dean’s wife.

In a hearing last month, Marlin testified that her younger sister also lied years ago in Guatemala by telling a judge that her biological father murdered her brother. Marlin told the court that the false testimony was an attempt by her sister to get her and her family into an orphanage.
