Sex Offender Wanted in Augusta for Failing to Register

Tony Oliphant

Convicted child molester Tony Oliphant is wanted for failure to register as a sex offender by not reporting a change of address to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office as required by law.

Oliphant’s last known address was on the 1600 block of Central Avenue in Augusta. He was charged with aggravated child molestation after a 15-year-old boy told authorities that Olphant tried to force anal sex on him. He pleaded guilty to child molestation in December 2005, according to court records. He received a seven-year prison sentence but was released early.

If anyone has information on Oliphant, they should contact the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office at 706-821-1080 or 706-821-1020.
