An Augusta woman woke up early Wednesday morning to her ex-boyfriend standing over her, according to a sheriff’s report.
It was 6 a.m. and the 21-year-old woman began screaming when she saw 23-year-old Calvin Jenkins in her bedroom, staring at her, the report says.
The suspect then ran out of the home and sped away in his silver Cadillac.
The victim called police and told a deputy that she had never lived with Jenkins and he did not have a key to her home. While the deputy was speaking to her, Jenkins rode by again in his Cadillac, the report says.
And the victim showed the officer a text he sent after leaving, which said, “I could have killed you and you would have never realized it because you were all asleep.” The text also described what her younger brother was wearing when he left for school.
The woman said she is “terrified of the subject and believes he may try to harm her,” the report says.
Captured by deputies, Jenkins reportedly admitted entering his ex-girlfriend’s home through an unlocked side door and sending the threatening messages.
Jenkins, of the 3100 block of Truxton Road, was charged with stalking and criminal trespassing. He remained in jail today under no bond.
