A teenage couple were found naked inside the batting cages at Evans High School on Sunday afternoon, leading to their arrest, authorities said.
Thomas Clayton, 19, of Aiken, and a 16-year-old girl, were both found “completely undressed laying face down under a blanket behind the baseball diamond” at 2:15 p.m. Sunday, a sheriff’s report says. A parent of an EHS baseball player caught the couple and called school officials, who alerted authorities.
The parent told The Jail Report that he was surprised they chose that spot since a lot of athletes use the batting cage on the weekend. He said he takes his son to the cages a lot and was there to practice with him.
Clayton was charged as an adult with public indecency/indecent exposure while the 16-year-old girl was charged as a juvenile and turned over to her mother. There is no indication the teens had sex, but the legal age of consent is 16, sheriff’s Capt. Steve Morris said.
