This holiday season, one lucky person could claim a $150,000 Christmas bounty—but only if they have the right tip to help authorities catch two armed robbers who targeted a U.S. Postal Service carrier in Augusta.
The robbery took place on Nov. 13 at approximately 4:55 p.m. in the 3400 block of Jonathan Circle, where a 24-year-old postal worker was ambushed while delivering mail. The victim was stopped by two suspects: one, a man dressed entirely in black, grabbed his arm and held him in place, while the other, wearing a gray hoodie, pressed a gun to his chest.
The suspects made off with two items, which were not disclosed, before fleeing the scene on foot toward Marvin Griffin Road. The U.S. Postal Inspection Service is now calling on the public to help track down the criminals, offering a hefty reward for information.
The bounty could be the season’s most rewarding gift for anyone who provides the key details leading to the suspects’ capture and conviction. All tips will be kept confidential, with law enforcement urging people not to take matters into their own hands.
