2 Wanted in Burke County Shootings That Killed 1 & Injured More

The Burke County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the help of the community in
locating the two suspects in Saturday’s shootings in Girard that killed one and injured four others.

Jawuandre Kelly, 22, and Jordan Perkins, 20, are wanted for murder and four counts of aggravated assault.

Deputies responded at 1:40 a.m. Saturday on the 200 Block of Claxton Road in Girard, where they found the five victims who were shot during a party. One person has died as a result of the shooting, identified as 36-year-old Dereck Hilton. The other victims were identified as Credick Hilton, Calleia Williams, Arcedis Maine, and Terrance Calles. They were all taken to the local hospital and treated for their injuries.

Initial investigation reveals that approximately 60 people were at the location when shooting broke out at an unlicensed bar/ shot house operated and owned by Kenneth Brigham,” a sheriff’s report says. Brigham was charged with maintaining a disorderly house.
