3 Young North Augusta Men Arrested for Vandalism

North Augusta police arrested three young men for spray-painting cars and causing $10,000 in damages over the weekend.

According to police, starting late this past Saturday night and running through mid-Sunday morning, Public Safety accumulated reports of spray painted vandalism to eight random vehicles throughout the city.  The investigation that followed led patrol officers and detectives with North Augusta to the description of the suspect vehicle and later to the identity of those involved.

Public Safety has positively identified three 17-year old young men from North Augusta; Jerry Bennett, Austin Lavigne and Frank Zander in connection to the vandalisms.  All three were arrested and charged with one count of Malicious Injury to Personal Property each.

The estimated total of the damage done to the vehicles stands at nearly $10,000.

    • You know one of the people is my family member. They are all three paying everything back, they realize their mistakes, and are all on bond. so how about be respectful about if, seeing as you always have something to say about everything

      • You’re right, Jim. That still doesn’t change the dumbassery of it all. I certainly would hope they are paying restitution and I see no value in showing respect to those who have none for others. It’s a with it. Your family member’s choices opened him up for public opinion. Should we condone this type of behavior only because they were caught and forced to do the right thing? Would he be ‘paying everything back’ if they hadn’t been caught? Or…should you accept what it is? ..Stupid behavior that deserves to be called just that. You’re doing your young family member no favor expecting immediate respect from the public he willingly chose to disrespect. . I hope he understands that and has an excellent future for the lessons he will so justifiably learn.

      • Instead of defending your imbecilic family member on an open forum, maybe you should be worried more as to the why’s and how’s of him being arrested to begin with. When people make stupid mistakes, their photos are posted on this site for the world to see. With that will come a lot of negative comments. This is not the fault of the person making the comment; it’s the fault of your dimwitted family member. Actually, your numskulled family member should consider his self lucky there’s so little activity on this page.
