A 4-year-old child was found inside an Augusta apartment with the child’s dead mom, a death being called suspicious, the coroner says.
The body and the child were found Tuesday night on the 2300 block of Barton Chapel Road in Augusta, Coroner Mark Bowen said. The child was taken to Augusta University Children’s Medical Center to be checked.
“It appears that the female was dead for several hours before being found,” Bowen said. “The body will be sent to the GBI Lab for an autopsy.”
