Aiken DUI Suspect Ends 3-County Police Chase on Rims in Columbia County

-

A three-county chase ended early Saturday with the DUI suspect driving on his rims and wrecking into a yard in Columbia County, authorities said.

Calvin Setters, 35, is facing a long list of charges stemming from the chase through Aiken, Richmond and Columbia counties. Currently, he is being held in Columbia County on charges of DUI, fleeing police, reckless driving, driving while license suspended, no proof of insurance, expired tag and more.

Columbia County authorities received a call early Saturday that Aiken County and Richmond County were in a vehicle pursuit of a stolen pickup truck that was approaching their county.  A deputy observed the suspect vehicle at Davis Road and Washington Road and took over the pursuit shortly thereafter.

The driver was riding on rims and the pursuit continued west on Washington Road. It ended when the driver wrecked in the yard directly across the street from 3137 Johnson Drive, authorities said.

The driver was identified as Setters.  The Georgia State Patrol is working the wreck and charging Setters with DUI. Aiken County and Richmond County will also have charges.

Setters was featured in The Jail Report last fall when Edgefield County arrested him on a custody hold.
