Aiken Man Gunned Down on His Street, Exactly 3 Weeks After His Arrest for Shooting at Cars

-

An Aiken man was fatally shot Wednesday night on the block where he lives.

Jamar Q. Bush, 22, was shot after 6 p.m. Wednesday at a residence in the 800 block of Dillon Ave, Coroner Darryl Ables said.

The Aiken Department of Public Safety is investigating but doesn’t have much to go on, Capt. Martin Sawyer said.  “Ain’t nobody cooperating, and you can put that in there,” he said.

EMS transported the victim to Aiken Regional Medical Centers where he was pronounced dead from at least from one gunshot wound. The victim will be autopsied Friday morning in Newberry.

Bush was arrested exactly three weeks ago in connection with an April gunfire that struck several cars in Aiken’s Crosland Park neighborhood. Several vehicles were struck by gunfire April 8 on York Street and Crosland Drive.

At the time, Bush was jailed for breach of peace, aggravated in nature, discharging a firearm into vehicle while occupied and possession, conceal, sell or dispose of stolen vehicle valued $10,000 or more.

If you have information on the shooting, please call Aiken police at 803-642-7620.
