Aiken Man is Found Fatally Shot in Vehicle on Hampton Avenue

-

Aiken police are asking for the community’s help after discovering the body of a local man in his vehicle Tuesday night.

Charles L. Bradley, 49, of Aiken, had been shot to death, Coroner Darryl Ables said in a press release. No motive or arrest has been announced.

Officers were called to three different locations for gunfire on Tuesday night and early Wednesday, including two on Aldrich Street and one at the intersection of Hampton Avenue and Assembly Street. At Hampton Avenue, they found a Nissan sedan that contained the body of the deceased victim, ADPS Lt. Jennifer Hayes said in a press release.

“At the other locations in Crosland Park, officers observed damage to the residences from gunfire, but there were no personal injuries,” Lt. Hayes said. “Information from the community is vital to solving this and any crime. Anyone with information on this crime is urged to call Aiken Department of Public Safety at (803) 642-7620.”

Tipsters can also submit a tip to CRIME STOPPERS by using the P3 Tips app or going to CrimeSC.com and clicking Submit a Tip. Tips submitted through Crime Stoppers will remain anonymous and may receive a cash reward of up to $1,000.

Meanwhile, Bradley will be autopsied in Newberry, the coroner said.
