The Aiken County Coroner’s Office was called to the scene of a drive-by shooting that occurred Friday night on Pickens Ave at Pine Street in Aiken.
At approximately 9:45 p.m., 26-year-old Lafayette Williams of Aiken was walking on Pickens Ave when a vehicle, occupied by unknown person or persons, drove by shooting Mr. Williams, Coroner Darryl Ables said..
Williams had sustained at least one gunshot wound and was pronounced dead on scene. Williams will be autopsied Monday in Newberry, SC. The Aiken Department of Public Safety is continuing with the investigation.
