Aiken Woman Fatally Hit by Car While Crossing Street

-

An Aiken woman was killed Saturday night while crossing Laurens Street, authorities said.

Terri Long, 59, was struck by a northbound vehicle around 8:54 p.m. Saturday on Laurens Street near Peach Orchard Place, according to Coroner Darryl Ables.

“Aiken County Emergency Medical Services transported Ms. Long to Aiken Regional Medical Centers where she succumbed to her injuries at 9:35 p.m.,” Ables said in a press release.

The Coroner’s Office along with the Aiken Department of Public Safety are continuing with the investigation. No charges were announced, but it was not a hit & run, according to the coroner.

Toxicology analysis is pending, Ables said.
