ARREST: Angry Popeyes Customer Pulls Gun in Martinez; His Sandwich Wasn’t Made Correctly

-

An angry Popeyes customer who pulled a gun in the Martinez restaurant has been arrested.

Walter Smith, 24, was charged Friday with simple assault and carrying a concealed weapon.

The suspect left the Martinez restaurant after getting his order last Tuesday and then returned to complain that his “sandwich wasn’t made correctly,” a sheriff’s report says.

An employee was talking to the man when he reached over the counter and pulled her by the shirt.

“He then threatened to shoot her in the face,” the report says.

The suspect pulled a black pistol from his pants and stood there arguing with the gun in his hand, the report says. He then left the restaurant in a gray Kia Soul.

The sheriff’s office published a surveillance image photo of the suspect on Facebook. The man’s grandmother reportedly told her son he was on social media and needed to surrender. So he did.
