Arrest Made in Jackson Shooting Death of Woman; Aiken County Authorities Seek Other Suspects

Aiken County authorities have arrested a man in the May 4 killing of Christina Cuteri in Jackson.

Shikorian Markel Corbitt, 19, of New Ellenton, has  been chaged with murder, armed robbery and weapon possession.

Investigators have made an arrest in the shooting investigation that began on May 4th in Jackson, SC. Shikorian Markel Corbitt (19) was taken into custody around 11:50 am at 109 Main Street in New Ellenton, SC without incident. On May 4th, information provided to deputies was there were three Black males that fired shots at a car that was occupied by Christina Cuteri and another victim after they arrived at 1629 Old Jackson Highway.

    The shooters drove away in a black in color sedan, leaving Cuteri in her vehicle injured from an apparent gunshot. After Aiken County EMS, they determined that Cuteri was deceased.

   Corbitt has been charged with Murder, Possession of Weapon during Violent Crime, and Armed Robbery. He is currently being held in the Aiken County Detention Center.

   Investigators are seeking the public’s assistance on any information that would lead to the identity and arrest of the remaining suspects.
