ATTEMPTED MURDER: Aiken County Teen Wanted for Shooting in Monetta

From the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office:

Investigators are seeking any information that would lead to the arrest of Daniel Timothy Harris (18) of Monetta, SC.

Harris is being sought in connection with the shooting incident that occurred on September 16th around 10:10 am in the 100 block of Old Shoals Road. At 10:14 am, deputies responded to 5098 Columbia Hwy N (Dollar General) were it was reported that a young woman was injured from an apparent gunshot wound to her head.

When the initial deputies and first responders arrived in the area, witnesses reported that the victim had gotten into another vehicle and left the area. She was later found at a hospital in Lexington County getting medical treatment.

Investigators located the shooting scene at 147 Old Shoals Road. Witnesses told investigators that Harris and two other shooters (black males), armed with rifles and a handgun, fired multiple rounds into a Mercury SUV was traveling on Old Shoals Road, occupied by two female victims.

The victims drove to the Dollar General where they got into relative’s vehicle and taken to the hospital for medical treatment for one of the victims. Investigators have linked this shooting to a disturbance and altercation from the previous day that involved the injured victim and Harris. Harris is wanted for 2 counts of Attempted Murder, 2 counts of Discharging Firearm into a Vehicle, 2 counts of Possession of a Weapon during a Violent Crime, and 2 counts of Pointing and Presenting a Firearm. Harris should be considered as armed and dangerous.
