A young Augusta University student ran out to her car at Campus Side Apartments on a Tuesday afternoon and made a startling discovery.
The 20-year-old resident told authorities that she saw a man in a red SUV with his shorts down and penis in hand, according to a sheriff’s report.
“She said that she observed the listed Red Mitsubishi SUV in the parking lot next to her vehicle,” the report says. “She stated that he did not say anything to her, but he was stroking his penis.”
She got what she needed from her vehicle and quickly returned to her apartment, where she called the sheriff’s office. The suspect left before deputies arrived at the complex on Wrightsboro Road.
But an investigation led to last Friday’s arrest of 25-year-old Franklin Roberts for public indecency.
