Social services took custody of a 6-year-old Augusta girl and arrested three over Easter weekend after finding the child living a house of horrors.
Moments before a deputy rushed to call for help from DFACS, the officer observed the girl sleeping on a recliner with a roach crawling on her face, according to a sheriff’s report.
The home at 3303 Blanchard Road was a nightmare: roaches everywhere, clothes stacked high, food on the walls and four dogs running around peeing and defecating in every room with no one cleaning it up.
The girl’s mother, Tiffany Lanier, was so embarrassed by the conditions that she fled the home when a deputy arrived at 2 a.m. Saturday to investigate a complaint. Only resident William Randolph was in the home. The child’s grandmother and homeowner Holly Weathers had gone to the store.
All ended up in jail for deprivation of a minor or contributing to the deprivation of a minor.
The horrible details are available for you from these three pages in the incident report with the girl’s name redacted by the sheriff’s office.
