Augusta Hotel Guest is Shot in the Neck at Fairfield Inn; Suspect Sought

Richmond County authorities have identified a suspect in Sunday’s shooting at the Fairfield Inn & Suites that left a guest with a gunshot wound to the neck.

Brian Tremell Moss, 34, is wanted for aggravated assault and armed robbery that took place at the hotel on the 2100 block of Gordon Highway.

When deputies answered the call at 8:33 a.m. Sunday, victim Antonio Pear was “lying on the floor in the hotel lobby covered in blood” with a gunshot wound to the neck. The 28-year-old was renting a room there, a hotel official said.

A witness laid the victim got towels and held pressure on the victim’s wound. His condition was not available.

The suspect, Moss, is known to carry multiple handguns and should be considered armed and dangerous, authorities said.

Moss got out of prison in July 2020 after serving 15 years for carjackings, robberies and weapons offenses.
