Richmond County deputies responded to Augusta Mall in reference to a shooting. According to a press release, two men were involved in an altercation when one pulled a gun.

“A struggle over the gun began and one of the subjects was shot several times,” a RCSO press release says. “A female bystander was struck by one of the rounds. Her injuries are not life threatening.”

“The subject shot in the altercation as well as the female have been transported to the hospital.”

A suspect was in custody but was not named at the time of this posting Saturday night.

“There are no other suspects believed to be involved at this time,” the RCSO said.

A posting by Tony Williamson on Facebook showed this photo along with this caption: “Remember no guns allowed at the Augusta mall..”
