Augusta Man Accused of Rape, Aggravated Sodomy

-

An Augusta man was charged Thursday with felony rape and aggravated sodomy.

James Nicholas Crouch, a 27-year-old construction worker, is accused of forcing sex on a woman he knows, according to an arrest warrant. In addition, he coerced the female to perform a sexual act against her will.

Both incidents allegedly occurred at 4 a.m. on March 3, the warrants say.

Crouch remained in the Richmond County Detention Center on Saturday afternoon without bond. A booking sheet lists his employer as an Augusta construction company.
