Augusta Teen, 19, Found Dead in Her Car on Murphy Road; Coroner Calls the Death ‘Suspicious’

-

The Coroner’s Office is investigating a suspicious death of a young woman on the 1900 block of Murphy Road, according to a press release.

Jimekeyana Cummings, 19, was found dead in her vehicle in the parking lot of her residence, Coroner Mark Bowen said. She was pronounced dead on the scene at 11:45 a.m. Monday.

An autopsy has been scheduled to determine the cause of death. The sheriff’s office has not release anything on a possible suspect or motive. They were also busy Monday with a double homicide at a beauty shop on Eve Street.

Cummings is listed in an online profile as a nursing student at East Georgia State College, but it’s not clear if that is a current profile. She graduated from Washington County High School, the site says, and once worked at Convergent as a Customer Service Representative Supervisor.
