Augusta Woman Claims She Was Raped by Man She Met Online

-

An Augusta man is accused of sexual assault on a woman early Friday after contacting her on Facebook and coming to her house to hang out.

Terrance McClain, 44, was charged Friday with felony rape. A booking report lists him as 6’3” tall and 210 pounds, while the victim was 5’4” and 160.

The 33-year-old victim told authorities that a man she only knew as “Terrance” contacted her through Facebook and came to her Augusta residence to hang out. She said that “Terrance” was sitting at the foot of her bed and she was sitting near the headboard when he began touching on her. She stated that she told the suspect that she was not going to have sexual intercourse with him because she was “on her period,” but he became physically aggressive.

The woman told authorities that the suspect grabbed her by her throat and pulled her clothing off as she told him to stop. She said the suspect was drunk and raped her. She also said he “urinated inside her” and on the bed before leaving in a gold Chevrolet Malibu.

The woman identified the suspect by a Facebook account of “Moneygangmafia Kartel” and said he was employed at a local hotel as a maintenance technician. The suspect is pictured on that page, which indicated he previously lived in Charlotte, N.C., and Harrisburg, Penn.

Authorities captured McClain within hours and arrested him.
