Augusta Woman Shoots Suspect After He Breaks Into Her Home

Richmond County authorities are investigating a shooting that took place after a home invasion Wednesday on the 3600 block of Meadowgrove Drive in Augusta

From the sheriff’s office: “It is reported that the suspect was shot by the female victim who was home alone when the intrusion occurred. The suspect fled the residence after being shot but was apprehended by deputies nearby. He has been transported to AUMC.”

Charges are pending, according to the press release.
