TaraA Martinez mom with an outrageous amount of alcohol in her system has been jailed in Friday’s accident that injured six children who were unrestrained in her car, authorities said.

Tara McConnell, 46, was charged Monday with DUI, reckless driving, failure to yield, six counts of failure to restrain children, DUI less safe, six counts of DUI child endangerment, and six counts of serious injury by vehicle. No bond has been set

McConnell was allegedly sloshed while driving a Honda Civic on Friday when she crashed on Belair Road, injuring her child and five others in her vehicle. Authorities say she was attempting to turn into the Shell Gas Station when she turned in front of a pick-up truck that hit the passenger side.

Her blood alcohol level measured .451, more than five times the legal limit, according to sheriff’s Maj. Steve Morris said in a press release.

Authorities say two of the female children remain in critical condition at Augusta University Medical Center. The youngest is paralyzed.

The children have been identified as Arwen Bargeron, 11; Matthew Bargeron, 10; Violet Bargeron, 6; Madeline Elliott, 11; Jeremiah Elliott, 11; and Preston McConnell, 11.

Violet Bargeron and Arwen Bargeron are the ones in critical condition.
