CCSO Releases Mugshots of Juveniles After Brazen Robbery at Salsa’s

-

Columbia County authorities have released the names and mugshots of four Augusta teens charged in a brazen robbery Wednesday at the Salsa’s Bar & Grill.

The suspects include three juveniles who allegedly participated in a robbery by sudden snatching at the restaurant on Bobby Jones Expressway. One of five suspects grabbed $37 cash a customer had left in a black payment wallet and they all fled toward Washington Road, sheriff’s Maj. Steve Morris said. From there, deputies started an intense manhunt.

“Deputies patrolled the area and an investigator observed the juveniles running on Davis Road where one suspect was detained,” Maj. Morris said. “After a perimeter was established, two more suspects were detained. Drones were deployed and a heat signature within the perimeter was observed and deputies were able to detain a fourth suspect. The fifth suspect was not located.”

Jaylen Dunn, 14, Philip Dudley, 14, and Selah Taylor, 13, were charged with robbery by sudden snatching and obstruction. They were transported to CCDC where they were processed and taken to Regional Youth Detention Center.

Taquan Dunn, 17, Augusta, was charged with the same offenses as an adult and booked into the Columbia County Detention Center. Dunn’s bond was set at $16,200.

Maj. Morris said he released the juvenile’s mugs because of the seriousness of the crimes and the resulting manhunt. The three juveniles will face an upcoming hearing to see if they will be charged as adults.
