Cigarette Lover Tied to 4 Smash & Grab Burglaries

-

This man likes to smoke. But he doesn’t like to pay for his bad habit.

Smash and grabColumbia County authorities say he is tied to four smash & grab burglaries in Columbia and Richmond counties. In each case, he brings his own bag and steals Newport cigarettes.

He is tied to the Dec. 2 burglary at the Sprint on Washington Road in Martinez and the two that occurred this week at CVS and Fuel Express.  He is also on video burglarizing the BP on Wheeler Rd in Richmond County.

At the Dec. 2 incident at Sprint gas station, a woman arrived to deliver newspapers and observed the front door broken. Deputies came and saw a large rock on the floor inside the store across from the door. There were several packs of Newport cigarettes scattered on the floor.

If you recognize the man or have any information, please call the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office at 706-541-2800.
