Columbia County Mother of 5 is Killed When Other Driver Crosses Center Line

-

A local mother of five was killed Saturday night when another driver crossed the center line during a sharp curve and struck her head-on in Columbia County, authorities said.

Kifiney Wakieshe Harris, 43, of Harlem, Ga., died in the wreck on Harlem Grovetown Road around 10 p.m. Saturday. She was driving a 2006 Chrysler 300 when the wreck happened.

Prescilla Johnson, 31, was driving a 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe when she crossed the centerline into the eastbound lane, striking the Chrysler head on. It’s unclear why Johnson crossed the center line while negotiating the curve between Cawley Road and Caroleton Road, sheriff’s Maj. Steve Morris said.

The driver of the Chrysler was pronounced dead at the scene. Johnson suffered what appeared to be significant injuries and was transported to Doctors Hospital by Gold Cross, Maj. Morris said.
