Coroner Investigating ‘Suspicious Death’ of Augusta Woman Found in Her Car

-

Richmond County authorities are investigating a “suspicious death” after relatives of an Augusta woman found her body inside her car in her driveway. Cherry Hoover, 64, was found in her vehicle Monday afternoon on the 600 block of Bennock Mill Road, in the yard of the home she shares with family. She was pronounced dead at 5 p.m. Monday. An autopsy is scheduled to determine whether she died of nature causes or other means, Coroner Mark Bowen said Wednesday. Until then it is considered “suspicious,” he said. The woman’s relatives are honoring Hoover online with poems and photos. “We are all heartbroken,” said her niece, Connie Percival.
