If it’s not every Snapchat user’s worst nightmare, it should be.
A 20-year-old Evans woman told authorities on Sunday that someone hacked her account and published nude photos of her to other people.
The young woman came to the Evans substation to report the incident. She said she discovered at 5 a.m. Sunday that she was logged out of her Snapchat account.
Snapchat is a multimedia messaging app that allows phone users to post pictures and messages that are usually only available for a short time before they become inaccessible to their recipient.
But the victim said someone had hacked her account and changed her password. The woman’s cousin called her and told her that nude photographs of her were being posted on her Snapchat story, according to a sheriff’s report.
The victim said the photographs were in her Snapchat album within the app. The hacker accessed her account, changed her password, and posted the nude photographs.
The woman said she would prosecute if the hacker was found.
