From Aiken Public Safety:

“On Tuesday, officers responded to Kangaroo Express on Silver Bluff Road in reference to an individual in the store who dropped a pistol while in the store. The individual placed the pistol back in his pocket, and exited the store. A traffic stop was performed and during the investigation located numerous items (firearms, electronics, and medication) which appeared to have been stolen. Several of the items were reported to law enforcement as stolen earlier in the morning.

“Also, contact was made with those individuals and it was determined their vehicles had been entered unlawfully during the night. It was also reported the individuals entered the open garage of a residence on Beauregard Lane and took items from the garage.

“Investigators continue to follow-up with reports already made, and further arrests are possible. We still have items which are believed to have been stolen, but have not been reported yet. If you live in that area, please check your vehicles. If you determine items are missing please contact Aiken Department Public Safety.

“The Aiken Department of Public Safety continues to urge citizens to lock their vehicles, and place valuables out of view from the window. Also, we ask citizens to continue to report suspicious activity and persons to Aiken Public Safety.”
