Whatever you call it, a picture of your genitalia is not something you want to send someone without their consent.

On Wednesday, Aiken County authorities arrested a Grovetown man on accusations that he sent someone a photo of his genital area “without the victim’s consent,” according to a warrant. The photo was allegedly sent on Dec. 2.

Scottie Eugene Bryant, 44, of Brookwood Drive, Grovetown, was charged with communicating obscene messages to another person.

The Aiken County Detention Center was not able to release his current mugshot as they handle an overhaul of their operating system. The mugshot shown above is from Bryant’s 2017 arrest for unlawful communication, a charge that no longer appears in the system, which means it may have been dismissed.

Here is an image from the court website showing his charge:

S.C. law states that is unlawful for a person to anonymously write, print, telephone, transmit a digital electronic file, or by other manner or means communicate, send, or deliver to another person within this State, without that person’s consent, any obscene, profane, indecent, vulgar, suggestive, or immoral message.

A person who violates the provisions of this section is guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, must be fined in the discretion of the court or imprisoned not more than three years, or both.
