-

A Hephzibah man was arrested Saturday in the shooting death of a man on Highway 88.

Reginald Todd Wright, 57, of 2489 Highway 88, was charged with murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime.

The shooting occurred Friday night on the 2400 block of Highway 88 in Hephzibah. The victim was transported to Augusta University Medical Center by EMS where he was pronounced dead at 7:08 p.m. Friday, Coroner Mark Bowen said.

The victim was identified as 54-year-old Dennis Adams from Millen, Georgia. (If you have a photo of Dennis to share, please text it to The Jail Report at 803-487-3224)

A motive was not given, but a friend of the suspect’s, Jason Murrell, said this on Facebook: “Everybody needs to know the story before talking. I have knowed the man that done it for years and he’s not the type to just shoot somebody for no reason and that’s all I’m gonna say about it.”
