Hephzibah Man is Found Packing a Pistol at Basketball Game at Butler High School

-

A Hephzibah man brought a loaded gun to the Butler-Hephzibah basketball game Saturday night at Butler High School, according to a police report.

Demondre Brown, 22, of Celeste Drive, was spotted by a Board of Education officer with a bulge in his pocket that appeared to be a handgun. Brown was searched and found with a black Taurus 9 mm semi-automatic handgun with three live bullets in the magazine, according to the incident report from the Richmond County Board of Education Police Department.

“This incident occurred inside of the Butler High School gymnasium during a basketball game between Hephzibah High School vs. Butler High School,” the report says.

Brown was arrested and taken to jail for carrying a weapon on school grounds.
