-

An arrest has been made in Tuesday night’s fatal shooting at Benson Estates Apartments.

The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office responded to 302 Williamsburg Road in reference to shots fired with at least one person shot.  Officers located the victim (identified as Joshua Hadnot, 30, of Memphis, Tennessee) laying on the sidewalk.  Officers observed Hadnot sustained an apparent gunshot wound.

Deputy Coroner Mitchell Freeman pronounced Hadnot deceased at 11:05 p.m Tuesday.  During the course of the investigation, authorities were able to link 26-year-old Jeremiah Long of Hephzibah to the shooting through witnesses, a press release said.

Long was taken into custody and was charged with murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

Note: If you have a photo of Hadnot, please text  it to 803-487-3224.
