Here’s Your First Look at the Young Man Who was Fatally Shot During a Robbery in Richmond County

Richmond County authorities say 20-year-old Ryan Lovette was trying to commit a robbery on Saturday night when he was fatally shot.

The Augusta man was pronounced dead at 11:56 p.m. Saturday in the emergency room at Augusta University Medical Center, sheriff’s Sgt. Caleb Lee said in a press release. Authorities did not say who shot him or whether any charges were filed.

On Saturday, 101919, at 2318 hrs., the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a call on the 2800 block of Lumpkin Rd to gunshots being fired and at least one gunshot victim. Upon deputies arrival, one person was located at the scene with a gun shot wound and was transported by EMS to Augusta University Hospital ER where they were pronounced dead at 2356 hrs by doctors in the ER.

The deceased person was identified as Ryan Lovette, B/M, 20 yoa, from Augusta.

The investigation into the incident indicates that Lovette had gone to the residence and attempted to rob a subject there at gunpoint prior to being shot.

Investigation into the incident is still on going and no further information will be released at this time.
