The Aiken County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Investigators have arrested and charge Cheryl Wright (from left), Russell Whitt and Adam Sloan on a range of drug violations.

The arrests on Tuesday night come after investigators were in Oxford Trace neighborhood doing follow-ups on drug activity complaints. Investigators conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle occupied by Cheryl Wright and Russell Whitt.

“After a search of the vehicle, both individuals were arrested and charged with trafficking heroin,” sheriff’s Capt. Eric Abdullah said in a press release.

Investigators were able to obtain a search warrant for 1321 Oxpen Court where an illegal lab was discovered, leading to the arrest of Adam Sloan. He has been charged with trafficking heroin, trafficking LSD, possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number, possession of a sawed-off shotgun, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.

“These arrests are a prime example of the community being vigilant and providing us with a tip on suspicious activity that has been happening in their area,” Sheriff Michael Hunt said in the press release. “We could not have been successful in this case without their help.”
